ben milam hotel

  • year built: 1926
  • architect/designer: joseph finger
  • location: downtown
  • status: endangered

on texas ave., bordered by la branch and crawford, it has sat in disrepair for a couple of decades. this is one of the worst (or best) examples of historic waste in houston. recent events show that the main building may be renovated (the garage and retail areas were demolished in early 2006).
